Carmen Madrid
Teacher, Felton Institute
Carmen Madrid, a dedicated preschool teacher at Felton Institute, is not just an educator but also a passionate explorer of life. Originally from Ecuador, she moved to the United States with her daughter, settling in the vibrant community of Berkeley, CA. Carmen’s love for her daughter is at the core of her being, and together, they enjoy the simple pleasures of life: traveling, dancing, cooking, cycling, and immersing themselves in the world of books.
While Carmen's journey began with Business Administration classes in Ecuador, her true passion found its voice in California. Here, she earned two A.A degrees, one in Child Development from Merritt College and another in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Berkeley City College. Carmen's dedication to education shines through her continuous pursuit of learning. Currently planning to transfer to a 4-year program, she aspires to obtain a Bachelor's degree, further enriching her knowledge and expertise in the field.
Having dedicated a decade in ECE, Carmen's interest in Child Development has deepened over the years. Her experience and education have ignited a desire to create a nurturing bilingual program of her own, where she can blend her years of expertise and education to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. Carmen's dream reflects her dedication to providing the best possible educational experience for young minds, driven by her unwavering commitment to their growth and development.
